Data Collection, Cleansing and analysis
Data forms the basis of any system, however collecting it is time consuming, tedious, and an expensive process. Data collection is defined as the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established methodical fashion that enables one to evaluate outcomes. Through the use of GIS technology, this process is now more accurate and efficient. However, the collected data must be correct and accurate to enable effective analysis. Data cleansing includes correcting attributes and rectifying geometries. Data analysis is the process by which raw data is turned into useful information and determine what actions need to be taken.
